Civil Engineering

Civil Engineering is a profession that applies the basic principles of science in conjunction with mathematical and computational tools to solve problems associated with developing and sustaining civilized life on our planet. Some of the most common examples of civil engineering works include bridges, buildings, dams, airports and hangars, ports and harbors, highways and railways, tunnels, river and shore improvements, lighthouses, drydocks, irrigations, flood protection, drainage, water supply, and towers.

This Civil Engineering program aims to:

  • Impart essential knowledge, elements, tools and skills necessary for civil engineering graduates to become successful engineers;
  • Develop students’ ability to recognize, formulate and solve civil engineering problems; and
  • Provide the students with a meaningful research experience that are relevant to the civil engineering field.
